Part 1: Terms of Use
By using chuckkinney.com or purchasing from it, you agree to these Terms of Use.
What ChuckKinney.com is
ChuckKinney.com is an author and storefront site sharing Chuck Kinney’s books, guides, and the Emergency Life Binder™ (ELB) products, along with the personal and professional experience behind them. ChuckKinney.com also hosts a Care Navigator search tool and links to trusted national resources (including crisis routing to 911 and 988), the same navigational functionality found on synquup.com. ChuckKinney.com does not provide medical, legal, financial, or insurance advice — see our No Professional Relationship Disclaimer.
Care Navigator and resource links
Search results, trusted national resource links, and crisis routing shown on this site are provided for informational purposes only. Displaying a resource, provider, or link does not mean we endorse, certify, or guarantee it — see the Emergency Notice, Resource & Provider Directory Disclaimer, and No Affiliation / No Government Endorsement sections below, all incorporated into these Terms and consistent with the same policies on synquup.com.
Permitted use
You may use this site for personal, non-commercial purposes: reading content, purchasing products, using the Care Navigator, and — where enabled — submitting reviews or content under our User-Submitted Content Terms. You agree not to misuse the site, including unauthorized access attempts, submitting false information, or using it to harass or harm others.
Products and purchases
Purchases of physical books, digital products, and the ELB are governed by these Terms together with our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Digital Product Policy, all incorporated by reference.
Health-adjacent content
Some content (including Infusing Hope and the Emergency Life Binder) touches health and caregiving topics from Chuck’s professional background. This content is educational and does not constitute medical, legal, or financial advice — see our No Professional Relationship Disclaimer, incorporated into these Terms.
Sponsored or affiliate content
If sponsorship or affiliate relationships exist on this site, they’re disclosed per our Editorial & Sponsorship Independence Policy and Affiliate Disclosure, both incorporated into these Terms.
Intellectual property
The ChuckKinney.com name, book content, the Emergency Life Binder system, site design, and original content are owned by SynquUp, LLC or used with permission, and may not be copied, redistributed, or used commercially without authorization. SynquUp™ is used as a trademark while registration is pending. See our Digital Product Policy for the specific license terms governing digital product use.
Age requirement
This site is intended for use by individuals 18 years of age or older. By using this site or making a purchase, you represent that you are at least 18, or are a parent/guardian purchasing on behalf of your household.
Termination of access
We may suspend or terminate your access to any part of this site — including an account, purchase history, or content submission privileges — at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold SynquUp, LLC, its owners, employees, and contributors harmless from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the site in a way that harms another person, content you submit, or your violation of any law or third-party right. This obligation survives termination of your use of the site.
No warranties; limitation of liability
This site and its products are provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that content is error-free or that any product will meet your specific needs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site, reliance on its content, or use of any product purchased here.
Dispute resolution — binding arbitration
You and we agree to resolve disputes through individual binding arbitration, not in court, and not as part of a class or representative action.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, your use of this site, or any purchase made here will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
Class action waiver. Disputes must be brought on an individual basis only. Neither you nor we may bring a claim as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative action. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims and may not preside over any form of a class or representative proceeding.
Opting out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to chuck@synquup.com within 30 days of your first purchase or first use of the site, stating that you decline to be bound by the arbitration provision. If you opt out, disputes will instead be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
No waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the policies they incorporate by reference (Privacy Policy below, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Digital Product Policy, User-Submitted Content Terms, Editorial & Sponsorship Independence Policy, No Professional Relationship Disclaimer, and Affiliate Disclosure where applicable), constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of this site, superseding any prior communications on the same subject.
Assignment
We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, without your consent. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.
Force majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay in performance resulting from causes outside our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disaster, war, pandemic, internet or utility failures, or actions of third-party service providers (including Lulu, Printful, Shopify, or our hosting provider).
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Emergency Notice
This site is not an emergency service.
If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, thinking about suicide, or needs mental health support, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Veterans can call 988 and press 1, or text 838255.
We’re here to help you find resources for ongoing care and support — but if this is an emergency, please don’t wait to reach out to the services above first.
Resource & Provider Directory Disclaimer
This site’s Care Navigator and trusted resource links point to hospitals, clinics, community organizations, and government resources to help you find care. Inclusion in these results does not mean we endorse, certify, license, accredit, or guarantee any provider or organization.
Please keep in mind: - Availability, hours, services, and staff can change. - Provider participation in insurance networks (including Medicare and Medicaid) can change. - We encourage you to verify information directly with the provider or organization before relying on it. - Search results may not show every provider or service in your area.
No Affiliation / No Government Endorsement
We are an independent site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government agency, including Medicare, Medicaid, the Department of Veterans Affairs, CMS, or any other federal or state entity. We link to and reference government and public health resources (such as Medicare.gov, the VA, and 211) because we believe they’re useful — referencing or linking to an organization does not imply affiliation or endorsement by that organization, unless expressly stated.
